Once in Pocklington go past the school then you will see a corner shop, turn left here and follow the road to the roundabout. As you near the roundabout turn left, this takes you to Burnby Hall Gardens. The gardens are renowned for their famous lilies. It hosts a cafe, museum, play area, 2 large ponds with a large variety of fish, a shop and lots of seating areas. Also within the grounds is the local Tourist Information Centre.

Directly opposite the entrance to The Wolds Retreat you will find the KP Golf Club, with its 18-hole championship course, golf shop and restaurant for you to visit during your stay.

Follow the signs into Pocklington, past the school, stay on this road, go over a little bridge and follow the road round then turn left into the town centre. The Arts centre is on the left half way down the main street. (Tuesday is market day, so parking is restricted). Brochures for the centre can be found in our tourist information box at the front of the glasshouse. The centre is also home to the cinema with regular viewings, ring the box office for details.

Market day is held on a Tuesday in the town centre. Most of the town centre is closed off for this. There are 2 or 3 car parks within Pocklington to park. There is a wide variety of stalls to take a browse at or stop off at one of the many coffee shops within the town.

Follow the signs into Pocklington, turn left at the corner shop, follow the road to the roundabout, take your 1st left at the roundabout this takes you out of Pockington up to the A1079. At the Junction turn right, follow for about 2 miles then take a left at Allerthorpe, go through Allerthorpe village, then carry on for about a mile and you will see Lakeland park on your left. The Park has two lakes for fishing and water sports. There is a children’s play area and a small selection of animals. It hosts a cafe and shop.
